Today I got a notification on my iPad that I 'got 100 likes for the first time' for the Radiohead cover I posted on YouTube a few years ago. At first I dismissed it and got on with my busy day of drinking wine and eating cheese but It has just occurred to me that this is actually a pretty cool occurrence.
Don't get me wrong, I have had my share of Internet trolls on YouTube, and while it may be the wine talking (or maybe the excessive amount of cheese I've eaten) it seems that this could be one of those 'glass half full' type of moments.
Now, there were no cats or small children in this video so we're not talking huge numbers here, it has currently accumulated just over 4000 views. Not bad for a video that required forethought but that's not the point of this rant. My point is that out of the 4000 people that watched the video, 100 people made the effort to like it while only one person gave it a thumbs down.
This goes against everything I had previously believed about people on the Internet. You go nice Internet people, and thank you!
'Thumbs down guy'... you've made the list.
