Always Double Your Guitars

When recording acoustic guitars, there's a very simple technique that I use for a more professional sound:

Always record two separate takes on two separate tracks, then pan one fully left and the other fully right.

Because each take is slightly different, this gives the guitar a much fatter sound without sounding like you've used a chorus or delay effect and the best part about this technique is that you can do it with only one microphone (plus a line-in if you've got it).

All you need to add is a little light compression and EQ and you will be surprised at how much better your guitar tracks will sound.
